概况
德高望重的Andrew Linzey教授是一位哲学博士、神学博士、英国圣公会牧师、神学家、作家、虔诚的基督教素食主义者。因其在基督教以及动物权益方面的卓越工作而赢得了世界范围的名声。
他目前供职于英国牛津大学(University of Oxford)神学院,任牛津大学动物伦理学中心主任。同时任温彻斯特大学(University of Winchester)名誉教授,美国芝加哥圣泽维尔大学(Saint Xavier University)特别教授,美国印第安纳州神学基金会研究院动物伦理学首席教授。
简历
1987-1992年间,他是英格兰艾塞克斯大学(University of Essex)神学院研究中心主任。
1992-2000年间,Linzey教授在牛津曼斯菲尔德学院(Mansfield College,Oxford)任教,成为世界上第一个神学在动物福利领域的大学研究员。随后(2000-2006)在牛津Blackfriars Hall的Bede Jarret 高级研究基金会任相同教职。
1992-1996年间,任英格兰诺丁汉大学(University of Nottingham)神学院特别教授。
1996-2007年间,任伯明翰大学(University of Birmingham)名誉教授

成就
2006年11月,Linzey教授于牛津大学开办动物伦理学中心。中心成立目标是“为动物开辟新的天地”,促进动物伦理学的理论研究,促进动物伦理相关问题的公开讨论。该中心拥有超过100个来自各领域的学术顾问团体。
同年,鉴于Linzey教授创建牛津大学动物伦理学中心之杰出贡献,美国神学基金会研究院授予他 “Henry Bergh教授头衔”,成为在动物伦理学领域获得该教授头衔的第一人。
Linzey教授在神学和伦理学领域著有20本著作,180多篇论文。在欧洲和美国许多地方进行演讲、出席广播节目。他的著作《动物神学》(Animal Theology)被翻译为意大利语、西班牙语、德语、中文以及日语。
1990年,鉴于在神学以及动物学领域的成就,Linzey教授被授予“和平王国勋章”(Peaceable Kingdom Medal)。
2001年6月,坎特伯雷 大主教(Archbishop of Canterbury)George Carey向Linzey教授授予“神学博士(Doctor of Divinity)”头衔,以表彰其在学术水平上、于神学领域对“上帝富于情感的造物”之权利与福利所进行的大量而独到的拓荒式研究。DD.头衔是大主教对一位神学家的最高奖赏,同时这也是该头衔第一次颁发给与动物有关的工作。

批评
